A neighbor asked how to retire an American flag which has reached the end of its service life. Much like a church sanctuary isn't just a building and Communion wine isn't just wine - the flag of our country isn't just a piece of fabric. You can't just throw it in the trash.

Fortunately, you have options. For one, the supplier for the Flags in Our Neighborhood flags, Kronberg's Flags and Flagpoles downtown will accept flags for retirement. Even more conveniently, Troop 73 installed and the American Legion runs a flag retirement kiosk near our Katy Public Library. The dropbox is in the parking lot. See the photo.
